I get sick a lot so the site’s To-Do List is piled up. To help keep things organized for myself, and keep the site’s visitors more up-to-date, I’ve added the To-Do’s to the site’s sidebar, at the top. It will probably take me another month or more to get it all done, but I’m hoping not; I’ll just take it one day at a time and see.

Prozac (Drug Therapy)
Use of drugs is a direct change to the Elephant
-Short-term solution
-A shortcut
-Not Natural
-Cheating

The following quotes go into two different directions:
“Be All You Can Be”
“To Thine Own Self Be True.”

=====

The Happiness Hypothesis
pg 43, paragraph 2

Reasons for Disagreement
01. Cortical lottery winners are too positively biased
02. The “the Body is a Temple” preachers are obviously going to be against anything cosmetic
03. People on the lottery’s losing side need mechanical adjustment
04. Medication is not an end solution, rather, a focal lens or mechanical adjustment to aid the user in seeing properly; a catalyst.

Reasons for Agreement
01. Medication shouldn’t be used as an excuse to not talk to your patients.

Felicia D. Kelly | -Ology
A common issue for website owners with self-hosted WordPress sites are file upload limits. The initial WordPress install comes with a 2MB file upload limit. While 2MB is fine for small texts and graphics, it falls short for self-made videos, large documents, graphic files, audio, etc. At some forgotten point, I managed to increase that 2MB limit to 8MB; that solved the issue of posting my art, however it still left a huge question-mark about selling digital content from the comfort of my own FTP. I don’t exactly have a lot of extra time on my hands, so the issue of digital sales was set aside, along with upload limits – until now.

Recently, I joined thousands of others in a time-honored tradition known as college and, after a week’s worth of classes, decided to expand upon an idea I had about 4 years ago during my vocational retail/customer service training. The idea was to set up a website with a class schedule, notes, downloads, and article links for my fellow classmates. Creating those resources for my classmates and having it actually be useful (even to a limited extent) was rewarding. I decided to use that experience as a template for sharing resources in my college classes. It’s been going well, with none of the files I’ve uploaded (scanned and .pdf converted versions of class handouts) having exceeded my 8MB upload limit. Now, I’d like to do a little more. Over the last 15 years, I’ve managed to amass an extensive digital library on pretty much every topic imaginable, and I want to share some of those subject-relevant files with my classmates. Problem is, most textbooks when converted to e-book result in a hefty file size, 30, 50, 100 MB or more! Obviously, 8MB wasn’t going to work. While I hadn’t found much success solving this issue in the past, I figured “well, it’s been about a year or so since the last time I tried to find a solution, maybe someone devised a workaround since then”. Apparently, someone has.

After several useless Google and GoDaddy Support searches, I found the following gem on the blog, All About Basic:

First, check the root directory of your web hosting for a file named php5.ini. Logging into your ftp should be the fastest way to do this. The following code gets edited into that file. If you don’t have a php5.ini file, create one. Create a plain text file, copy and paste this code, save it as php5.ini (do NOT include the .txt extension), and upload your new file to your hosting’s root directory. This solution is not unlimited; the most you’ll get out of it is 64MB, but that’s certainly better than 8.

Source code

memory_limit = 64M

A curious thing… I was just starting on the subject header for a new blog post on my deviantart account, when I became unsure as to the spelling of a word. Nothing spectacular in that, obviously, but I like to check these things so I did a Google search. The word was supposed to be “minutia”, but as it turned out, I spelled it “minutiae” – which turns out to be the original latin of minutia, in plural. Guess my brain’s hard-wired vintage.
